One Idea at a Time

Our Republican comeback will be built on principles and ideas.

On November 4, the Republican party lost, our ideas didn’t. Unfortunately, the American people lost their faith in our commitment to those ideas.

  • We were once the party that America trusted on national security. But when intelligence failures and poor planning led to unexpected challenges in Iraq, America lost faith in our party.  
  • We were once the party of fiscal responsibility. But when members of our own party led the way in pork barrel spending, which led to the fattest federal budget in history, America lost faith in our party.
  • And we were once the party that had convinced America that we "shared their values". But when Republican after Republican was exposed as a hypocrite that said one thing on the campaign trail and behaved a different way in their personal life, America lost faith in our party.
  • Worse yet, the Democrats seized these opportunities to win Americans over on these same issues. They became the party that represented America’s greatest hopes.

But we are going to change all that. We are going to demand better from our leaders. And we are going to stand proudly on the core principles that have fueled our party to victory in the past.

When Democrats try to raise taxes, we’ll mobilize the American people to stop them.
When the Democrat spending spree begins, we’ll end it.
When the Democrats try to open the floodgates to frivolous lawsuits against our most productive and innovative companies, we won’t let them get away with it.
When they submit to union leaders and try to strip working people of their American right to a secret ballot, we’ll pull out the stops to beat them.
When the Democrats try to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq, hollow out our military, dismantle our missile defenses and appease dictators, we’ll block them.
When President Obama appoints judges who will turn their back on our constitution and substitute the values of Hollywood for the values of our founding fathers, we’ll say no.
And when Democrats try to pass an energy policy that leaves out any actual energy, we’ll blow the whistle on it.

Republicans lose when we try to buy off middle class families with pork and earmarks. Republicans win when we stand up and fight for the common sense principles that unite us.
